Bass Transcriptions
This page is dedicated to bass transcriptions of all kinds, although this will mostly be pop songs that I enjoy playing or have had to play for a variety of reasons, I plan to transcribe as much as possible, so expect updates to this page as time goes on.

Rude by MAGIC!
Notation and tab
This is a fun song to play with a lot of nuances, take a good bass tone, a p bass with the tone rolled down works well, flatwounds also sound good tonally but aren't required to get the tone, all the slides do sound good on a fretless, but it might take away from the feel. This is sort of a fun reggae does pop vibe.
Locked Out Of Heaven by Bruno Mars

This is a fun song to play, sort of a throwback vibe. It sounds like the original is a p bass with flatwounds played with a pick. I've notated the end how I play it, so the ending isn't correct to the track but it adds a fun half time feel.
I Kissed A Girl by Katy Perry

This will really get your triplets into shape, it's fun to play and is quite easy in the left hand. The original sounds like a synth bass to me, definitely a synth of some kind in the chorus, so you might be able to get away with some fun effects, depending on how lenient your bandleader is.
Valerie by Mark Ronson ft. Amy Winehouse
Notation and tab
This is a fun one to play, and if you're doing function gigs it'll probably come up a lot, so it's a good one to know well. the original sounds like a p bass with flats, maybe with the tone down a bit. You can also play this down the octave on a five string, which sounds great if the second guitar tunes down a half step and doubles you an octave up. If you don't have a five string you can still take the pre chorus down an octave for some low goodness.
